CROWD-PLEASING MEATBALLS

These meatballs are designed to be really, really easy to make. Perfect when you’ve got a group of people coming over to watch the footy, or they can be transformed into a simple family dinner with some pita bread and salad. The key ingredient is Torello’s beef mince with its wonderful full mouth flavour that you get from cattle that have been gently raised on grass.

serves 4-6 (makes about 20 balls)

500g Torello Farm grass fed beef mince

½ cup breadcrumbs made from day old bread

1 golden shallot, finely chopped

2 tablespoons finely chopped flat-leaf parsley

1 teaspoon sea salt

2 tablespoons Torello Farm tomato sauce, plus extra for dipping

Place the mince, breadcrumbs, shallots, parsley, salt and sauce in a medium bowl. Using hands mix thoroughly to combine well. Wet your hands before taking enough meat mixture to form walnut size balls.

You can either cook the meatballs in medium sized fry pan over a hot heat with a little olive oil for 8-10 minutes turning regularly to ensure you get an even golden brown crust on the outside, but they remain juicy and tender on the inside. Alternatively, meatballs can be baked in a 200C, uncovered, for about 15-18 minutes until they are golden on the outside by still juicy inside.
